Great spot for socializing. I came in a group of four and we all had drinks and food after spending the day doing archery together. The service was reasonable and the food we were able to order from the table. It was a pretty popular spot so we had to wait for a bit, but we were able to buy drinks and use the restroom while we waited

The alpine inn is a staple in the community of Stanford/Portola valley area that serves approachable food with a sizeable bar selection in a peaceful outdoor setting. Having spent my first visit here on a beautiful April day, I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance - spacious outdoor seating with plenty of umbrellas to protect against glare and sunburn, and a peaceful creek running adjacent to provide some element of calm/cooling as well. Service here is straightforward as you order through the app and your items will arrive shortly. Being that multiple devices can be used to order, I recommend coordinating the order times to minimize the trips for the staff and also to help with the wait since it can get packed. The beer and wine selection is sizeable and stocked with desirable items at great prices. The food was simple but between the apps, burgers and pizzas I can't say you can find any better than here for the prices as well. Overall, the Alpine inn is a great casual family spot for days with great weather.

We came here on a busy Saturday and were able to get seated after waiting just a few minutes. We got the bambino pizza which was full of fresh tomatoes and so delicious! We also got the avocado toast which was so good with all the corn, avocado, and spices! My friend also got the spiked hot chocolate which she said was tasty but definitely strong. Service wasn't that great, they're pretty busy so they are kind of avoiding eye contact. Overall, I would definitely come back for the food!

Came here on a Wednesday around 11:30 just as they were opening (incidental). I had driven by this place a number of times after hiking windy hill and was always drawn to it just purely out of the smell, but never stopped to eat here. After a long hike with a buddy of mine, we decided we deserved lunch. We were politely greeted by staff and one of the servers took our name, phone number, party size and preference in where we sat. After a couple of minutes we were seated and upon walking in, were extremely impressed. The ambience, the smells, the friendly staff all of it were fantastic. We sat down and our server told us how the ordering worked. You scan menu with ur phone and order either for just yourself or for the party (makes splitting the bill easier) My friend and I both ordered the tavern burger which was a double cheeseburger with pickles, carmelized onions, jalapeños, American cheese and a nice sauce that's kind of like thousand island. Ordered fries with it and a bubbly berry drink I think? The food was phenomenal. Fantastic. A juicy flavorful burger that's messy but worth every drop you get onto your pants. The fries are perfectly crispy but not overcooked and with the right amount of salt that you want with a burger. My drink was nothing crazy but a nice little sweet bev. Overall yeah I have nothing bad to say. Such a cool spot. Humongous menu, quick service, great ambiance and just a place I'm excited to re-visit. Extensive drink menu that I definitely want to try!

My favorite part of Alpine Inn is the ambience -- it's a large, beautiful outdoor space in the woods that's always packed with groups and makes for a great weekend hang in good weather. My first time here, we waited around half an hour at 3 PM on a Saturday, whereas the next time when I came at opening, there was a long line but we were seated immediately. Ordering is done through a QR code menu, with easy customizations and requests, and service is efficient (though unsurprisingly, food took a long time to arrive when we came at opening). I'd say the portions on most items other than the pizza are a little on the smaller size, but I actually like that since it enables trying out more items, and prices are reasonable. My favorites are probably the BLACKENED SALMON TACOS ($17.95), brunch menu SMOKED SALMON TOAST (scallion cream cheese, tomato, EBTB seasoning, pickled red onions, capers, dill; $12.95), and THE FRANCESCO pizza (criminal mushrooms, caramelized onions, arugula pesto, roasted garlic; $21), but everything I've had was tasty. I wouldn't say any of the food is necessarily special or mind-blowing, but they do all the classics (burgers, sandwiches, tacos, pizza, fried appetizers, etc.) well, and the beer garden snacks are all great for sharing. Definitely plan on coming back and sampling more, hopefully alongside a neighboring hike!

Alpine Inn is a really nice place to come and chill with a group of friends. The beer garden out back is gorgeous, and there is TONS of seating. The service in our case left a bit to be desired, but was overall okay. The main complaint I have is that when we asked for some plates to share food with our group, they just pointed at a self service station in the middle of the beer garden, and walked away. That little gripe aside, I was really impressed by the quality of all the food we ordered. I didn't really have any expectations, but I have to say, it was quite good. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts and pizza.

I really loved the concept of this place and will definitely be back! this restaurant is located in portola valley within the forest and has a camping vibe. they have a large outdoor seating area and they even cook the pizzas outside too. I arrived as a party of 2 at ~1pm on a saturday and there was no wait to sit inside but 30 mins to sit outside. the inside was still decorated really well so we didn't mind skipping the wait to sit inside. you order with your phone using a QR code on the table and the online menu has pictures which may make it easier for you to decide what to get. and the food came out super quick (10-15 min) despite how busy they were! food: - NACHO LIBRE ($12.95): pork & beef chill, melted sharp cheddar, cilantro crema, guacamole, pico de gallo, green onion, cilantro, pickled jalapeno - the portion was HUGE and the toppings to chip ratio was perfect!! really good - 10/10 - BESIO PIZZA ($23): spicy fennel sausage, reggiano, mascarpone, basil, calabrese peppers, honey drizzle, Maldon sea salt - also 10/10!! loved the thin crust and sweet/spicy/savoury combo of the peppers, honey and sausage! tips: parking lot was very full and can be hard to find a spot. would recommend carpooling if coming with a larger party, they have spots set aside for carpools with 4 adults.

I've been hearing about Alpine Inn for years and finally went and it was so much fun!! Awesome outdoor area that's very dog and kid friendly! The food and drink options are really fun. They have great smoked meats. It would be a fun place to watch sports games as well. It's also a good group spot because you can all place separate orders. Alpine Inn gets very packed quickly when it's nice out, so make sure to arrive early or expect a little wait.
